How to win at craps by jumping in at 7

Dice is a dice game that is fun, fast and action-packed. And if you’re here, you’re probably wondering how the game is played, or more specifically, how to win at craps by placing 7 bets.

Money fluctuates and is exchanged right before your eyes at the craps table and tends to attract large crowds – so it’s important to understand the game and the different betting methods!

What Is Craps?

Dice is a well-known table game that is played in many casinos. Players in this game place bets on how two dice will land. All bets must be placed before the shooter rolls the dice on the craps table.

Here is a complete guide to the online craps game.

How to place a bet in craps?

There are many betting options in the game of craps. They can be divided into two main groups: single bets and multiple bets.

You can choose to play a pass the line bet and a don’t pass bet, which is the safest type of bet. You can choose a hard eight bet or opt to play a field bet. It all comes down to understanding the game and what strategy will work in your favor.

How to bet on 7 at craps

There are two ways to bet on 7 at craps:

  • Any bet on the 7 or ‘big red’, for the superstitious among us.
  • Hopping the 7 or ‘hop the reds’.
  • In essence, this type of proposition bet involves a bet that the number 7 will land in the next throw of the dice.

Depending on the type of bet you make, the payouts and house edge can change. Since some bets are considered more favorable than others, you should choose your bets carefully.

Seven or Big Red are considered single-round bets that have payouts of 4:1, 5:1 true odds and a 16.67% house edge, which is not a great chance to make a profit.

In a craps game, the true odds of getting 7 are 5 to 1, which means that if a person bet $10 and won, they should get $50.

A player’s house edge is usually considered the average amount of profit a casino will make from a game, and the longer you play, the more likely you are to lose money. In some craps bets, the house edge drops to zero, while in other bets it rises to a double-digit number, such as in betting on big red.

A lesser-known option for betting on 7 is hopping the 7 or what is also known as hopping the reds.

Basically, hopping the 7 means that you have to land on a particular combination during the next roll that will equal the 7. This will read as 3-4, 5-2, or 6-1 on the dice. The player can choose whether to bet on a single combination or multiple combinations at the same time.

If a player wants to bet on each combination when jumping on reds, one can bet in multiples of three on the three ways to roll a seven (3-4, 5-2, 6-1).

In the end, deciding whether you should jump on red or go for big red, it all comes down to how many chips you play with. You’ll earn a little more when you jump on 7 in multiples of three (all combinations to get 7), compared to big red. This can make a significant difference if you are betting bigger.

Hop bets may be considered a good move on the craps table, but knowing your strategy and when to play it is what will get you to the finish line!
